Pusha T "King Push"

It's that Pusha T joint that Joaquin Phoenix produced that we have all been excited for:

Pusha T "Who I Am" ft. 2 Chainz and Big Sean

Pusha T drops another crumb on the trail leading to his G.O.O.D Music debut My Name is My Name. On "Who I Am", Push goes in on the grimiest of beats and almost makes up for the lackluster Big Sean and 2 Chainz verses.

Drake "5am in Toronto"

Oh. My. God.

Drake murdered this.

I could load every gun with bullets that fire backwards
You prolly wouldn't lose a single rapper

PREACH

Apparently some shots fired at Pusha T (the whole thing about albums being shelved) that, per my homie Phaze, has caused Pusha to get back into the booth to respond.

If Drake is in this mode, this Pusha Vs. Drake should could be entertaining.

Pusha T - Wrath of Cain

I have been bumpin' the new Pusha T for weeks now but haven't written about it on here because I submitted the review I would have used to a publication that will never publish it. Fuck me, right?

This shit is straight crack. Go download it immediately.

While I don't like the hook on the song below, Push just murders this one, especially the second verse. The whole illuminati/ John F or Bobby run is amazing.

Ducktails-The Flower Lane

Ducktails' latest is a masterful dream pop record. I won't spoil it by using boring words, but it is the leading candidate for best release of the year thus far along with Pusha T's Wrath of Caine.

A$AP Rocky's (Alleged) Track List

After reviewing the menu--and hours of painstaking deliberation-- I'll have one of everything twice, please. This album looks pretty tasty.

One concern though--the "Pretty Flacko" remix has Gucci (excellent choice), Waka (fantastic decision), and... Pharrell?!? I had such a music boner after the first two, now it's like I'm reliving my high school prom the way that I have a halfy and depression due to shattered dreams.

What, you couldn't get Pusha T on that track, Rock? He was just too busy?! The god damn album has been pushed back 8 months--Pusha couldn't just jump in for one verse in that time period? Just one "Yuachhk"?

I think we all remember the CRS "Us Placers" incident a few years back. Do we really wanna give Pharrell another go? For his own well being, do we want to see him be the worst rapper on a track again? It's setting him up for failure--we gotta pull some Little Miss Sunshine shit right. now.

Honest question--is there like an AARP discount I don't know about that A$AP gets for including his old ass on this album? Because that would be understandable. Otherwise...no.

What's your angle, Pharrell? Do you plan to just falsetto your way through this shit? Is this part of your plan to just phase yourself out completely from my good graces? What gives? I hope you surprise me, sir. I hope you got that Dylan Hot Fire. Please, Pharrell, give me some of that hot fire.

Some Thoughts on Pusha T

I finally got around to listening to G.O.O.D. Music's Cruel Summer LP. It's tight, but you knew that. Kanye's beats are fucking stupid good, but you knew that. That's not why you're here. You're here to read about how awesome I think Pusha T is (unless you're my girlfriend, in which case you're sick of hearing me talk about it).

Listening to this LP, I  was again reminded how much I love Pusha T. He isn't my favorite rapper of all time, but he may be the coolest rapper of all time. The moment you hear that ugchkk you know some dope shit is about to happen. He commands attention and fulfills the expectations with his punch lines every. single. time.

Whereas Kanye is sure to sprinkle in some cubic zirconias with his gems, Pusha T keeps his sixteens as flawlesss as the diamonds on his Audemars Piguet. Case in point:

August Playlist

Here is a collection of songs I found myself liking the most in the month of August. Sadly, no Antwon "Sittin in Hell" is to be found on the youtubes. Fear not-- the remainder of my favorite songs of the month still get it in. Enjoy.

Alley Boy ft. Pusha T "Your Favorite Rapper"

I love getting in philosophical debates about the morality of hip-hop songs that promote negative themes as much as the next guy, but I also love some gutter-ass rap that promotes everything that a human should never do. Every so often I forget about this hedonistic side of myself, and then a track like "Your Favorite Rapper" comes along to act as a reminder.

Alley Boy and Pusha T give us the rap equivalent of a four-to-the-floor rock n' roll scorcher with this archetypal street-rap anthem. Through the four minutes and twelve seconds, the duo express their disdain for all forms of fakery in the rap game, expertly marrying room-clearing punchlines with this southern-friend beat that could loosen fillings.
